1. Project Overview
As the first Fairmont luxury hotel in Fujian, Fairmont Xiamen is located in the core of Xiamen Cross-Strait Financial Center, jointly designed by international top teams Foster+Partners and CCD. Adhering to the design concept of inheriting Minnan local culture, the hotel integrates coastal aesthetics and aviation minimalist elements, forming a unique high rise hospitality space. It features an 11-meter high ceiling lobby and a 144-meter multi story vertical atrium, paired with 270° panoramic sea and city view guest rooms, putting forward extremely high standards for non standard hospitality lighting and spatial light layering.
In 2024, Diamond Life undertook the overall lighting customization and implementation of Fairmont Xiamen. We abandoned universal finished fixtures and delivered exclusive custom hotel light fixtures solutions, solving common industry problems such as uneven illumination and light layer fracture in high rise large spaces, fully meeting the high end operation standards of luxury 5-star hotels.
2. Lighting Design Concept
The lighting design abandons homogeneous stacking and focuses on integrating light with architecture and local culture. We adopted a zoned differentiated lighting strategy tailored to Fairmont Xiamen’s spatial characteristics. For the 144m super-high vertical atrium, the design optimizes multi layer light transition to enrich spatial stereoscopic sense. For cultural catering areas, soft warm lighting creates an elegant and immersive ambiance. For panoramic guest rooms, professional anti glare technology avoids light overflow while retaining the ultimate viewing experience.

3. Custom Fixture Features & Spatial Presentation
All light fixtures in this project are fully bespoke with no standard finished products, perfectly matching the high rise scale and cultural tone of the hotel.
In the lobby and core atrium area, exclusive high-ceiling lobby chandelier custom fixtures adopt modular scale design. The uniform and soft light transition eliminates light and shadow fracture in super high vertical spaces, echoing the hotel’s mountain landscape artistic design and enhancing the grand entry ritual sense.
Banquet hall and restaurant lighting supports multi scene switching for business events, weddings and fine dining. Public corridor lighting uses minimalist styling to highlight spatial hierarchy without visual disturbance. Panoramic guest rooms adopt professional anti glare guest room hotel lighting, effectively controlling glare and light spillage, ensuring a quiet and comfortable resting environment while preserving the 270° sea view.
