Situated in the historic district of East Chang'an Avenue, the hotel originated as the Overseas Chinese Hotel (Huaqiao Dasha) built in 1959, bearing witness to significant diplomatic receptions in New China's history. The renovation meticulously preserved the main structure and era-defining characteristics of the original Soviet-style architecture, skillfully blending Neoclassical style with contemporary comfort.

Diamond Life Group, adhering to the conservation and renovation principle of "Repair the Old as the Old, Dialogue between Old and New," developed a professional lighting scheme for the hotel lobby, banquet halls, and historical exhibition areas. The lighting design prioritizes restoring the ambiance of the historical spaces, employing concealed installation and precise light distribution to gently illuminate the original arches, reliefs, and terrazzo floors, allowing the historical textures to narrate their story gracefully within a modern luminous environment.
